Urban Decay Backtalk Palette | Swatches and Try On

Out of all the upcoming Spring 2018 makeup releases, this was the one I was most excited for! The Urban Decay Backtalk palette (46 USD) is a Sephora exclusive and was released on March 8th. Of course, I ran to my local Sephora on release day to pick this up!

The Backtalk palette houses 2 blushes, 2 highlights, and 8 shadows. It is a beautiful mix of warm and cool tones, mattes and shimmers. It was inspired by one of their best selling Vice Lipsticks “Backtalk”- a pinky mauve in their Comfort Matte formula. This palette incorporates the same rose toned mauves with each shade having the slightest hint of pink.

Let’s start with the shadows…from the top!

180 (shimmer)- deep chocolate brown with a slight purple duochrome, I like this to deepen the outer corners of the eye

WTF (matte) – warm toned medium brown, love this as a crease shade!

Attitude (shimmer/foil)- red/magenta, beautiful to pack on the lids!

Shade (shimmer)- fushia, love this all over the lid or as a lower lid highlight

Backtalk (matte)- dusty mauve rose, great as a transition color

Curve (shimmer)- taupe with the slightest purple hue, love this all over the lid for a natural look

Bare (shimmer)- tan biege, pretty as an everyday day or in the inner corners to highlight

3 Sheets (matte)- eggshell, I’ve been using this all over the lid at a “starter shade” to mattify and even skin tone

And now for the blushes and highlights!

Party Foul (highlight)- a gleaming champagne, love this as a cheek, brow bone and inner corner highlight, looks darker in the pan, swatches close to The Balm’s MaryLoumanizer or Colourpop’s Lunch Money

Low Key (highlight)- a shimmering peachy highlight, I love this as a blush topper, slightly less intense than Party Foul

Double Take (blush)- a dusty rose with the slightest hint of peach, has a slight shimmer, love this as an “everyday blush”

Cheap Shot (blush) – mauve-y pink/purple, more sheen than Double Take, love this for a glam look!

Here’s the look I created with this palette! For shadows, I used WTF in the crease, Backtalk as a transition, Attitude on the lid, and Bare on the inner corner. I mixed both blushes and highlights on the cheeks. I really love how it turned out!

Hope you guys enjoyed!
