The Haircare Product I Never Knew I Needed- NEW at Target!

I spotted the NEW Kristin Ess haircare line in my local Target, and I took a bee line right to the shelves. How can you not be drawn to this classic pink and gold packaging? The first product I spotted was the Cleansing Conditioner. Huh? A conditioner that cleans your hair? I had to try it! And once I took a whiff of what was inside, it was over. I threw it in my cart! I’m so glad my eyes (and nose) drew me in, because this line quickly has become a new favorite!

Details: Kristin Ess is a celebrity hairstylist who has worked on the “swoon-worthy” hair of Lauren Conrad and Lucy Hale. Her line features patented “Zip-Up” technology to smooth dead ends and includes her own tips and tricks on the back of each product! Available online and at Target. Cruelty Free.

My hair concerns: Coarse, color treated, split ends

The One Signature Conditioner

Cost: $10

Claims: Our proprietary strengthening complex designed to “zip-up” split ends while targeting weak areas of the hair, smoothing the appearance of damaged cuticles and helping to protect hair from environmental stressors and color fade.

This condition is designed to smooth, soften, and renew shine. Sulfate Free.

Thoughts: The first thing I noticed was the divine smell- that fresh, sophisticated “just got back from the salon” scent that lingers all day. Each product seems to have the same divine smell. This conditioner is a thick cream with enough slip to run through hair. My hair felt instantly detangled in the shower. My hair felt smooth and lightweight. My hair needs a slightly heavier conditioner to tame my frizz, but this would be great for someone looking for just enough hydration to smooth split ends.

Strand Strengthening Reconstructive Moisture Mask

Cost: $14

Details: This mask is softening and detangling, but not heavy. It’s a universal treatment for anyone looking to reverse dryness and soften strands. Sulfate Free

Directions: After shampooing & rinsing, run a small amount from middle to ends.
Allow it to sit on the hair for 5 minutes, or longer if you have time.
Rinse thoroughly.

Thoughts: Its hard to find a hair mask with enough slip to glide through hair. This is thick enough to cover the strands yet glides easily through hair. My hair felt silky and had more shine. To attempt to tame my frizz, I applied this to top of my head to the end of my hair shaft. My hair was surprisingly not weighed down, and there was no build up left over. My hair felt shinier and softer. I really enjoyed this hair treatment as it made such an improvement on my hair condition! Not sure if I’d repurchase though, as I went through this tub in a matter of three treatments. Granted, I have thick, long hair, so it takes on a lot of product, but I wished there was more product. It was a joy to use while it lasted!

Frizz Management Cleansing Conditioner

Cost:  $14

Details: For curly girls, frizzy hair, humidity control and damage – basically anyone lacking natural moisture. When worked through, FRIZZ MANAGEMENT gets hair clean while natural oils remain intact to moisturize and restore. No need for conditioner!

Directions: Divide your hair into four sections – two in the front and two in the back.
Apply a nickel-sized amount of cleanser to wet hair at the root of each section.
Gently work into hair, focusing on the root area, for one minute per section.
Rinse hair thoroughly. The middle and ends will get as much cleansing and conditioning as they need as the product rinses through.

Thoughts: Now this was a stand out product for me! Initially, the concept made me a little nervous. A cleansing conditioner? What?! Is my hair really going to feel clean? Will my oily roots really get clarified? Well I have to tell you, I was super surprised by the results.

My hair felt clean AND moisturized. My oily buildup was gone, and my ends were smooth. You won’t feel that squeaky grip at your roots when you are done rinsing. This was weird from me at first. I thought I didn’t get the product efficiently rinsed, but once blow dried, my hair felt cleansed and soft.

This is a product I never knew I needed! This will be a frequent repurchase for me!

Hope you enjoyed!
